Daiwa Sports (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd.
Company Overview
Daiwa Sports (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. is the official China sales office of Daiwa (Globeride, Inc.), one of the world’s largest and most respected fishing tackle manufacturers. Listed on Daiwa’s global network page alongside its counterparts in the US, UK, France, and Germany, the Guangzhou office manages brand distribution, dealer networks, and customer support across the Chinese market.
Daiwa, founded in Japan in 1945, has been a dominant force in global fishing tackle for over 75 years, known for pioneering technologies such as Magsealed bearings, SV (Stable Vibration) spool systems, and Zaion carbon composite materials.
Daiwa also operates two major production facilities in mainland China — DONGGUAN DAIWA SPORTING GOODS LTD. and ZHONGSHAN DAIWA SPORTING GOODS LTD. — which manufacture rods, reels, and components for the global supply chain.

Market Context — Q1 FY2026
Globeride’s first-quarter FY2026 results (three months ended June 30, 2026) offered a direct read on the China market that Daiwa’s Guangzhou office serves. Group sales rose 6 percent year-on-year to 33,701 million yen, but profit attributable to shareholders fell 24.1 percent amid temporary inventory adjustments and an unfavourable product mix. Globeride described sales progress in China as “slow,” while the wider Asia and Oceania region grew 30.7 percent to 14,827 million yen — though segment profit there fell 48.7 percent, partly on inter-company inventory timing.
By contrast, the US market showed a gradual recovery as tariff policy stabilised, with sales up 10.2 percent to 4,983 million yen, supported by the TATULA bass series and the ICAST award-winning BG spinning reels. In Japan, domestic sales rose 20 percent on launches including the SEABORD electric reel and EMERALDAS squid rod. For buyers sourcing Daiwa-built tackle from China, the quarter confirmed that premium brands continue to see China’s domestic market as a slower-growth battleground even as export demand — particularly to the US — regains momentum.
